Her great-grandfather Blake (her grandmother Mary (Blake) Brown's father) was a soldier in the war for American Independence, and this fact entitles the children of Mr. and Mrs. Purdy, as well as themselves to membership in the great American order of Sons and Daughters of the Revolution.
