Vernon Charles "Bud" Lidbury age 82 of Lakeland, Fl and formerly of Capron, Illinois died Sunday evening, February 1, 2009 in Lakeland Regional Medical Center, Lakeland, Florida after a lingering illness. Bud was born August 2, 1926 in Capron, Illinois the son of William and Rose Ellen (Todd) Lidbury. He married Louise M. Smith in Sharon, Wisconsin on June 14, 1953. Bud was a longtime Boone County farmer as well as a Star Route mail carrier and driver for Poplar Grove Feed. Bud enjoyed playing cards with friends, watching baseball and football games and going to the Boone County Fair.
Survivors include his wife, Louise of Lakeland, FL; children, Lynette (Jerry) Novak of Gilbert, AZ, Kevin (Cindy) Lidbury of Roscoe, IL; grandchildren, Tony Novak of Harmony, FL, Matt (Valery) Novak of Chandler, AZ, Brian Novak of Denver, CO, Joe (Leah) Lidbury of Appleton, WI and Katie Lidbury of Roscoe, IL; great grandchildren, Logan and Malia Novak of Chandler, AZ. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Rose (Todd) Lidbury; brothers, William "Bill" Lidbury, Harry "Red" Lidbury, Clifford Lidbury and sister, Pearl (Gus) Anderson.
Funeral Information

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 7, 2009 in Buck-Wheeler-Hyland Funeral Home, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave., Belvidere, Il with Rev. Eugene Wille, pastor emeritus of Immanuel Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 7, 2009 in Oakwood Cemetery, Sharon, Wisconsin. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to service time Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorials can be given in care of the American Diabetes Association or Christ Lutheran Church, 2715 Lakeland Hills Blvd, Lakeland, FL.
