Rusty proudly served his country in WW11, Was injured in the Battle Of The Bulge, He earned a Purple Heart from that while riding a tank. After returning from war he worked for Phillips Petroleum Company in production, Until his death.
His greatest pride and joy was his only son, Terry and Grand children.

Hubert O. (Rusty) Russell, 58, Of 932 Elmore, died at 10 a.m. Sunday in St. Anthony's Hospital in Amarillo.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Central Baptist Church with the Rev. Aaron Laverty, pastor, and the Rev. Leo McMahan, of the First Baptist Church in Seymour officiating.

Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery by Alexander Funeral Directors.

Mr. Russell was a 33-year employee of Phillips Petroleum Company. A native of Electra, he had been a Borger resident for 44 years. He was a graduate of Borger High School and a World War II Army veteran.

Mr. Russell was a member and past deacon of the Central Baptist Church.

Survivors include one son, Terry of Hereford; his mother, Mrs. Iva Russell of Borger; one brother, W.C. of Hereford; and two grandchildren.
