Earl A. Aldrich, 96, died Jan. 23, 2007, at the Good Samaritan Center, Hutchinson.

He was born Sept. 8, 1910, in Sylvia, the son of Joseph Edward and Zenira Eugenia Fergus Aldrich. In 1930, he graduated from Sylvia High School. A Hutchinson resident since 1984, moving from the Plevna-Sylvia area where he had been a longtime resident, he was a retired farmer.

He belonged to United Methodist Church, Hutchinson, United Methodist Men and the Progressive Sunday School Class. He was a member of Modern Woodmen of America and was a past board member of the Plevna Co-op.

He married Alta Baker. She died Aug. 9, 1972. He later married Ada Charlien Simpson on Dec. 5, 1973 in Hutchinson. She died Oct. 5, 1999.

Survivors include: two daughters, Frankie Jean Neely and Melva June Ansel, both of Hutchinson; a sister, Pearl Wheeler, Wichita; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.

Funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Hutchinson, with the Rev. Mark Conard and Pastor Bob Shelton presiding. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary. Burial will be private.

Memorials may be sent to the Progressive Sunday School Class, in care of the funeral home.
