Funeral services for Helen Louise Brown, 84, of Sweetwater, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 23, 2009, at First Assembly of God Church, with Rev. Wayne Kirk, Rev. Ronnie Horton, Rev. Morton Eugene Brown and Mike Sells officiating. Entombment will follow at Slater's Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

Brown died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2009 at Abilene Regional Medical Center. She was born Jan. 29, 1925, in Sullivan County, Ind. She married Millard Leo Brown Aug. 1, 1975, in Las Vegas, Nev. Brown was a bank teller for many years before retiring. She was a homemaker and a member of First Assembly of God.

Survivors include her husband, Millard Leo Brown of Sweetwater; four children, Steven Schriver of Indianapolis, Ind., Sharon Thomas of Sullivan, Ind., James Schriver of Anaheim, Calif. and Jane Forester of Riverside, Calif.; five step children, Jay Kinder of Bakersfield, Calif., Toni Miller of Thousand Oaks, Calif., Karen Storie of Lubbock, Morton Eugene Brown of Palmdale, Calif. and Arlin Dean Brown of Boron, Calif.; six brothers and sisters, Sam Graves of Seminole, Fla., Nellie Marie Taylor of Shelburn, Ind., William Graves of Dundee, Ill., Shirley Newton of Bushnell, Fla., Nancy Woodward of Flora, Ind. and Larry Graves of Bradenton, Fla.; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by step son, Millard Duane Brown; parents, Samuel and Alpa Marie Graves; one brother, David Graves; and one sister, Joy Woodward.

Pallbearers will be Greg Storie, Jay Kinder, Mike Sells, Bill Graves, Charles Boiles and Arlin Dean Brown.
