Was Well known resident of Scammon District since 1869
One of the oldest settlers of the county in the vicinity of Scammon died yesterday afternoon when William H. Coman succumbed to an illness of about two years with partial paralysis. The stroke suffered about two years ago had appeared to be wearing off until recently when Mr. Coman became worse.
William Coman was known to most of the residents of the north part of the county where he lived on his farm north of Scammon since coming to the county in 1869. In recent years when his sons were grown, he removed to Scammon where he died, leaving a widow, four sons and two daughters, the sons and daughters all grown and living in Scammon.
Mr. Coman was a native of County Tipperary, Ireland and came to this country when a boy. He was known as a loyal friend and a good neighbor and the residents of his township where he was deputy assessor for several years came to know and admire his qualities.
The funeral will be held at 9 o’clock Monday morning at St. Bridget’s Catholic church.
