Civil Engineer in father's Iron City Bridge Works in Pittsburgh, 1885-1890.

When his father C.J. Schultz retired in 1890, his brother Albert took over as pres. and he as secy.and treas., reorganizing the business as the Schultz Bridge and Iron Company.

When the American Bridge Company absorbed many of the bridge companies in 1900, including the Schultz's, he became an asst. treas. for them and manager in the Schultz plant.
