Mrs. Viola Watson Hockin Clayton, 74, of Alvin, died Monday, Nov. 2, 1992, in the Alvin Community Hospital. Mrs. Clayton was born on Nov. 11, 1917, in Center, Tx. and was a former resident of Alvin, moving back to Alvin in 1971. She was a retired seamstress and attended Bayou Drive Baptist Church of Alvin.
Survivors included were husband, Haskell Clayton of Alvin, daughter, Margie Jane Ward of Pasadena, sons, Kenneth Lee Hockin of Alvin, Robert Lewis Hockin of Alvin, and Thomas Ray Hockin of Pasadena. Sister, Mary Grubbs of Pasadena, brothers, Hardy of San Antonio, Tommy of Lufkin, & Oscar Watson of Nacogdoches. Also included are 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Nov. 4, 1992, in Froberg Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wayne Hudson, pastor of the Bayou Drive Baptist Church of Alvin officiating. Interment was in The City of Alvin Oak Park Cemetery, under the direction of Froberg Funeral Home, Inc.
Pallbearers included Kenny & Mike Hockin, Don & Pat Sapaugh, Van Hockin & Carl McNabb. Honorary pallbearers were Richard Byrd, Larry Boyd and Bill Ward.
