BRIGHAM CITY – Neil F. Christensen, 76, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Feb. 1, 2009, at his home.

He was born on Nov. 22, 1932, in Corinne, a son of Romeo Walter and Adele Fillmore Christensen.

Neil married Frances Anna Funk on Sept. 3, 1952, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

Neil worked for the Box Elder School District starting in 1962 and retiring in 1992. He taught at Bear River High School and Box Elder High School. He also farmed in West Corinne for 58 years.

Neil was a member of the Brigham City 22nd LDS Ward serving in various callings.

He passionately loved to farm and loved his dogs, Pugs and Cocoa.

Surviving are his six children, Neil Christensen, Jr., Brigham City; Anna Jean (Tom) Simmons, Wendell, Idaho; Colleen Parkinson, Hyrum; Ruth Powers, Perry; Bryce Christensen, Brigham City; Curtis (Melissa) Christensen, Roy; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, two sisters, Jean Davis and Roxie Geisler both of Brigham City.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances; one brother, Roy Christensen.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 7, at 1 p.m., at Gillies Funeral Chapel, 634 East 200 South, Brigham City.

Family will greet friends on Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery.
