Floyd was swept away in 1919 flood along with brother, Joseph

In July 1919, the flood caused a flash flood along Horse Creek in Dubois. Barns, fences and everything close to the creek was destroyed. The event took six lives, including the town doctor. The Dubois bridge across Horse Creek was also destroyed.
