Josie was born to the late James Emmitt and Beulah Ellen Wright Boyd in Mexia, Texas, where she lived her entire life. Mrs. Josie worked for Sears Catalog Sales Office in Mexia for 33 years, serving over half of that time as manager of the store. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Alfred Chandler; brothers, Clyde Boyd, Hiram Boyd and N. B. Boyd; and sisters, Marie Causey and Lucy Lee Thompson.
She is survived by a niece, Marian McDonald and husband, W. G. "Mac"; nephews, Robert James Boyd and wife, Glenda and Jim Boyd and Eddie Boyd and wife, Cyndi; numerous great, great-great and great-great-great-nieces and nephews.
