GEORGE VOSBURGH SR.
Mr. George Vosburgh Sr., 95, of Palatine Bridge, formerly of Nelliston, died Wednesday, August 8, 2001 at Little Falls Hospital after a long illness. Born July 1, 1906 in Canajoharie, he was the son of John and Lillian Dingman Vosburgh.
Mr. Vosburgh was educated at Canajoharie schools. He was employed in the Lasting Department at Little Falls Footwear for 43 years. A lifelong area resident, he was of the Methodist faith. He maried Mary D. Dingman Vosburgh, September 19, 1939 in Canajoharie. They celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary in 2000.
He was predeceased by two daughters and two sons. In addition to his wife, survivors include two daughters, May Vosburgh and Linda Ann Vosburgh, both of Palatine Bridge; two sons, Stewart J. Vosburgh Sr., Canajoharie and Frank E. Vosburgh, Duncan, OK; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, August 13, at the chapel of Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home Inc., 20 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, with the Rev. Kenneth Dingman officiating. Burial will be in Fort Plain Cemetery. Calling hours are 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, August 12, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 73 N. Main St., Gloversville, N.Y. 12078.
