Isaac "Ike" Moody, 81 (b. 22 Feb 1894), of Hortense passed away early Wednesday morning (10 Sep 1975) in the Pierce County Hospital following a long illness.

A native and lifelong resident of the area that is now Brantley County, he was a son of the late David Barney Moody and Mary Lydia Sloan Moody.

A retired farmer, he was a member and former deacon of Twin Rivers Baptist Church and was a member of the Men's Bible Class.

Survivors are his wife, Courtney Strickland Moody of Hortense; three daughters, Doris Lewis of Tallahassee, FL; Leona Moody of Hortense, and Polly Moody of Glennville; eight sons, Lenwood and Sonny Moody, both of Patterson, Lester, M.A., Dan, and Everett Moody, all of Hortense, Nolan Moody of Biloxi, MS, and Joe Moody of Tallahassee, FL, three sisters, Mary Jane Ramsey of Albany, Lizzie Carver of Hortense, and Margaret Jacobs of Nahunta; three brothers, John Moody of Greenwood, SC, Junior Moody of Albany, and Riley Moody of Jacksonville; 22 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and other relatives.

Services were held at 4 p.m. Friday from the Twin Rivers Baptist Church. Officiating was the pastor, Rev. Robin Adams, and Rev. R.C. Mathis.

Interment was in Hortense Cemetery.

Clough-Pearson Funeral Home of Blackshear was in charge of arrangements.
