Death Comes to E. H. Hunt 83-Year-Old Native of Saranac Ill 4 Days Edson Hale Hunt, for many years a resident of Saranac, Mich. And for 23 years a member of the Saranac School Board, died of pnuemonia Tuesday afternoon in the Alexander Blain Hospital here after an illness of four days.

Mr. Hunt was born 83 years ago on a farm at Saranac. He was graduated from Michigan State College in 1877, and lived in Saranac until his retirement in 1926, when he established his home in Ann Arbor.

Mr. Edson H. Hunt died Feb. 2, 1937, at the Alexander Blain Hospital, Detroit, after a week illness. His parents were Herman and Elizabeth English Hunt, who formerly lived on the farm just east of Saranac where Mr. Hunt spent most of his life. He was born May 25, 1853, and after attending school in Saranac, and teaching in country schools, went to the Michigan Agricultural College where he was graduated in 1877. He was always greatly interested in public affairs, and served over twenty years on the Saranac School Board, part of this time as
director. After retiring, he lived for a short time in Phoenix, Arizona, and at New Rochelle, New York, and for the last few years at Ann Arbor, Michigan. Mrs. Hunt died last April.

Mr. Hunt is survived by one brother, Judge Ormond F. Hunt, formerly of Detroit, now at Los Angeles, California; one sister, Miss Mary Elizabeth Hunt of Ann Arbor; three sons John. H. Hunt and Ormond E. Hunt of Detroit, Don H. Hunt of Willard, Ohio; three daughters, Suzannah E. Hunt of Phoenix, Ariz., Vera E. Hunt of Hartsdale, N.Y., and Mrs. Agnes H. Parke of Phoenix, Ariz.; eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The funeral services were held from the Saranac M.E. church, Friday afternoon, conducted by his cousin, Rev. Reuben Smith, of Grand Rapids, assisted by Rev.
Frank Loomis of the Saranac church. Burial was in the Saranac cemetery in a lot which was originally part of the
Hunt farm.

He leaves three sons, Ormond E. Hunt, vice-president and director of General Motors Corp., John Herman Hunt, director of the new devices section of General Moters, and Donald H. Hunt, of Willard, OH; three daughters, Mrs. Agnes Parke and Susanna E Hunt, of Phoenix, Ariz., and Vera E. Hunt of Hartsdale, NY; a brother, former Judge Ormond F. Hunt, of the Wayne Circuit Court, and a sister,
Mary Elizabeth Hunt, of Ann Arbor. His wife died last year.

The body will be taken to Ann Arbor and remain there until 11 a.m. Friday, when it will be taken to Saranac, where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. in the Methodist Church. A cousin, the Rev. R. S. Smith, will conduct the services. Burial will be in Saranac Cemetery.
