James Monroe HALL, son of William HALL and Elizabeth Ann Tubbs, was born on 25 Jul 1865 in Clifton, Bosque Co., TX. He died on 9 Jun 1954 in Florence, Pinal Co., AZ. He was buried in Florence Cem.,Florence, Pinal Co., AZ.

James married Catherine Elizabeth "Betty" Blackmore daughter of Joseph Alexander BLACKMORE and Charlotte Elizabeth PATTON on 2 Jan 1896 in Bosque Co.,TX. Catherine was born on 10 Sep 1858 in Mexia, Limestone Co, TX. She died on 9 Jan 1959 in Phoenix, Maricopa Co., AZ. She was buried in Florence Cem., Florence, Pinal Co., AZ.

DIES IN HOSPITAL
The funeral of James Monroe Hall, longtime and highly respected reideent of Florence, will be held at 6 p.m. today, Friday at First Presbyterian church under Masonic auspices.

The Rev. S. B. Hannan_, a friend of the family for many years, will officiate and burial will be in Florence Cemetery.

Mr. Hall died in Pinal General Hospital late Wednesday afternoon. He was admitted a month ago when he fractured his hip. His condition did not permit physicians to reduce his fracture and his condition worsened. He had been in failing health for some years and was confined to his home most of the time. He was 88 years old.

Born July 25, 1866 in Clifton, Texas, he and his wife came to Arizona in 1902 and resided in Stafford and Bensen. In 1906 they moved to Naco where they lived for four years.

It was in 1917 the family moved to Florence from Meridian, Texas and they resided here ever since. Mr Hall was a bookkeeper and accountant and was employed by several local business firms. He had been retired for some years.

Mr. Hall was a member of Gila Valley Lodge No. 9, F. and A. M., Burning Bush Chapter. Royal Arch Masons, and Florence Chapter No. 21, Order of Eastern Star.

Surviving relatives include his widow; a daughter, Ruth Mathews of Florence; three grandsons: J. C. Mathews of Redwood City, Calif., Capt, S. R. Mathews, Fort Lewis, Wash., John H. Mathews, Santa Rosa, Calif. There are two great grandson. James and William Mathews, Redwood City.
