He was a High Priest with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and enjoyed gardening, the beach, going fishing, coin collecting, traveling, reading, and he was a very good craftsman.
Survivors include his wife of fifty-seven years, Helen Eloise Adkisson; daughter, Diane Grimes and her husband Paul; grandchildren, Kimberly Traylor and her husband Scott, and Kristi Grimes; and great grandchildren, Landon Traylor, Karlynn Traylor, and Aubree Traylor.
