He was the only son of William and Anna Dobler second generation immigrants from Germany. While a high School student he worked at his nucle's sale barn in Ashley,N.D. and it was thenthat he realized his life's passion. "The cattle run through my veins". he often said over the years. Upon graduation Bill enrolled at NDSU(North Dalota State Univeristy) but a car accident would put his college degree on hold. Recuperation would take nearly a year, after which he spent two years working to be near his family. He returned to Ellendale Teacher's College where he earned a BS Degree in math and Science. Over the next five years Bill would teach, work construction and even try out door-to-door sales work before starting his own storage constrution business, D Sales. He owned the company for 15 years, employing high school and college students to build grain storage facilties all across the state of North Dakota.
Bill could not ignore his intrest in cattle and the cattle business He bought the Ellendale Livestock, managing the business while farming and auctioneering in his home community. In 1974 he launched Bobler Cattle Company where he served as owner/proprietor buying and selling cattle throughtout the midwest. Bill married Carrol Meyers Feb.2nd.2002. in Bismarck,ND.
He is survived by his wife Carrol of Bismarck; his daughter Kari(James)Hannum of Las Vegas, Nev.;and their children Michael and Grace; his son Brad Dobler of Lewisville,TX; allso survived by his former wife Sylvia Dobler of Ellendale,N.D. He was preceded in death by his son Steven, his sister Shirley Batcheller and his parents
