ADELINE MARY LA ROSE Daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend was delivered into the hands of the Lord on October 23, 2005. She was born on January 9th, 1912 to Joseph and Louise Drina Cordoza in Sebastopol, California. She was their 3rd daughter, and was followed by 3 sons. She was the first in her family to graduate from Analy High School in Sebastopol, and later moved to San Francisco where she worked as an au pair for a British Naval Officer. It was in San Francisco that she met and married a young career seaman, Alfred Napoleon LaRose. Their first son, Dennis Joseph was born January 1938, but died suddenly at age 2. Still being in the Navy and missing his bride, orders for Pearl Harbor meant the two could still be together. After the attack on December 7th they became Pearl Harbor Survivors. Adeline now with 2nd son Ronald, was again state side while the war raged on. In 1945 Renel Louise was born, followed in 1949 by Drina Denise. Adeline is preceded in death by her father Joseph, mother Louise, husband Alfred, son Dennis, brother Ernest, and sister Kathryn. She is survived by sister Edith and brothers, Joseph and Edward of Sebastopol, son Ronald (Donna) La Rose of Chico, daughters Renel (Larry) Birk of Hayward, and Drina Vieira of Chico. Grandchildren; Dennis and Jason LaRose of Chico, Michelle (Glenn) Kalawaia of Fremont, John (Lynette) Herrera of Brentwood, Erin (John) Anderson of Citrus Heights, Corrine Vieira of Rocklin, and Marine Sgt. Matthew Vieira currently serving at the Embassy in Minsk, Belarus; Step-granddaughters Christina (Marc) Birk-Bartholomeu of Antioch, and Pennie (Rudy) Birk-Dizon of Brentwood, and 21 great grandchildren; Kalani, Keoki, Keoni and Keanu Kalawaia, Kaya, Chloe, Cade and Karac Herrera, Danielle, Drina and Anastasia LaRose; Marialana Vieira, and Jolie Anderson. Step great grandchildren Angela, Eric and Vanessa Bartholomeu, Joshua, Austin, Scarlett, Luke and Roxanne Dizon. Adeline is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews. Also, of special importance, Rachael Jones who lived, and with love, cared for our mother for the past 6 years and her husband Michael who was also devoted to our mother. Sweet mother, patient, and kind, strong hearted, gentle soul, our Mother departed this earth on October 23rd our father's 99th birthday...her last earthly gift to him was to join him. May they Rest in Peace. Vigil services will be held on Thursday Nove. 3rd @ 7:30pm, Chapel of the Chimes, 32992 Mission Blvd., Hayward. Funeral Mass Friday Nov. 4th 10:00am at St. Felicitas Catholic Church, 1662 Manor Blvd, San Leandro.
