Roy Samuel Simmons, age 73, passed away Saturday February 7, 2009.

Mr. Simmons was born February 3, 1936 in Doe Hill, Virginia and was the son of the late Wes and Maude (Simmons) Armstrong.

Prior to his retirement, he worked in the building industry with Loretta Eaheart Hayes, a special friend of the family.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Charlotte Simmons, of Nokesville; two sons, Lucky Simmons and his wife, Lynn, of Culpepper, Bernie Simmons and his partner, Sylvia Bruce, of Fredericksburg; three daughters, Debbie Skipper and her husband, Rufus, of Dale City, Doris Chism and her husband, Don, of Manassas, Lorrie Blevins and her husband, Bobby, of Stafford, and one sister, Mildred Rigney and her husband, Doyle, of Bridgewater. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Roy from 11 to 12 p.m. Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at the Mountcastle Life Celebration Home, 4143 Dale Blvd., Dale City, Virginia 22193 where funeral services will take place immediately following the visitation at 12 p.m.

The interment will follow at Stonewall Memory Gardens in Manassas, Virginia.
