Dr. Stephen Stuckey has never been found on any of the older burial rosters for the Gordon Cemetery. His family has long held the belief that he was buried there because of family stories and the finding of an old funeral record found which gave info on the death and burial of an "Old Man Stuckey" in the Gordon Cemetery.

Confirmation of burial was made by Sharon Glover, January 2019, who found the newspaper obit shown here clearing up the burial mystery for all Dr. Stephen Stuckey descendants. Dr. Stuckey is buried in the Gordon Cemetery.

1. Stuckey Researchers Family tradition in the Stephen J. Stuckey family was that he had been buried near Marsden in Love co., OK.
2. Funeral record found showing "old man Stuckey" buried at the Gordon Cemetery. Informant was Tom Sharrock, a Brawley relation linked to the Stuckeys through marriage of daughter, Phariba (Stuckey) Brawley. Interviews with Phariba's descendants provide info of Phariba's husband, John Wesley Brawley, also being buried in the Gordon Cemetery.S/O William Stuckey and Susan (Pipkin??).
3. Survey by this author of the cemetery June 11, 2009 found no tombstone for Dr. Stuckey. The old cemetery is full of burial stakes, small, rough-type slate's wedged into the ground for burial makers and none have info on them. We believe this is his case.
