The Lapoint Ward Chapel was filled to capacity Monday for the services held a 1:00 p.m. for Rosella Broadhead Horrocks who passed away Friday a 5:30 a.m. at her home in Lapoint, Utah from causes incident to age. Burial was in the Vernal Memorial Park where the grave was dedicated by Elmer Swett. Pallbearers were Delbert, Robert, Mervin, Ralph, Ronald, and Rodney Horrocks, with the honorary pallbearers Curtis and Leonard Horrocks. Mrs. Horrocks was born in Heber City, Utah August 16, 1876 the daughter of Robert and Alice Clegg Broadhead. Her parents were among the first settlers of the Heber Valley. She was married to Joseph Horrocks, May 19, 1897 in the Salt Lake Temple. In 1901 the couple moved to a homestead in Milburn, Wyoming where they lived the early part of married life. Mr. Horrocks was also Bishop of the LDS Ward here. In 1910 the family moved to Hayden in the West part of the Uintah County and then later to Bennett where Mr. Horrocks was Bishop of the Ward. The Horrocks family moved to Vernal in 1925 where they purchased 160-acre farm. In 1937 they moved to Lapoint where they purchased a farm and have resided until the present time. Survivors include her husband eleven sons and daughters; Curtis, Leonard, Alice, Mervin, Delbert, Robert, Ralph, Vera, Ronald, Rodney, Edna. 56 grand children and 30-great grandchildren.
