Illness Fatal Maggie Oldham
Good Woman Succumbs at Family Home at 2701 South B Street Early Today
Mrs. Maggie Oldham, 88, wife of John M. Oldham, residing at 2701 South B Street, died at 2:30 o'clock this morning at the family home of infirmities of age.
The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Zedidie Buckles, she was born in Miami County, Ohio, June 7, 1847. She was married three times.
The first marriage was to Thomas Cromer and by this union she leaves three children, Nathan and Thomas Cromer, both of Summitfille, and Mrs. Henry Snyder, of Tipton.
The second marriage was to J. G. Shaffer. Surviving are five children by this union. They are Mrs. David Babb and Mrs. Pearl Cole, both of Elwood; Mrs. Edward Peters, of Alexandria; Mrs. Herbert Waymire and Ollie Shaffer, both of Summitville.
Third Marriage in 1927
Mr. Shaffer died in 1925 and on July 26, 1927, she was married to John Oldham, who survives. She also leaves two brothers, James Buckles, of Elwood, and William Buckles, of Mishawaka. Ther are twenty-four grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
The boy was removed to the Clark Chapel and prepared for burial after which it was returned to the family home.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Mt. Valley Church Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock with the pastor, Rev. Dewey Zent in charge. Burial will be in the Forrestville Cemetery.
