MAHOMET - Funeral services for Lois Roberts Bell, 85, of Mahomet, formerly of Pesotum, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Morgan Memorial Home, 1304 Regency Drive West, Savoy. The Rev. Glen Bocox will officiate.

Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens, Champaign.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Bell died at 2:20 p.m. Tuesday (Oct. 31, 2006) at Heartland Health Care Center, Paxton.

She was born July 30, 1921, in rural Douglas County, a daughter of William Hanks Sr. and Grace Hatfield Hanks. She married Clifford Roberts on Feb. 8, 1942, in Sadorus. He died Oct. 7, 1975. She later married Milton Bell on Jan. 31, 1987, in Mahomet. He survives.

Survivors also include a son, Rod Roberts of Burnsville, Minn.; three stepsons, Maurice Bell, Melvin Bell, and Marvin Bell, all of Mahomet; a daughter, Sharon Tenhouse of Liberty; seven grandchildren; nine stepgrandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, a brother and a grandson.

Mrs. Bell graduated from Sadorus High School and attended the University of Illinois. She was a farmer in Champaign County for most of her life. She was a Realtor for several years and worked at Coldwell Banker/Devonshire Realty from 1988 until she retired in 2006.

She was a chairman and lifetime member of the Champaign County Farm Bureau Women's Committee and a member of Sadorus United Methodist Church and the National Camping Travelers Club. Mrs. Bell was a 4-H Club leader for more than 30 years and led the Sadorus Mixers and Sadorus Plowboys. She was a rural health and safety activist.

Memorials may be made to the Champaign County Extension Education Foundation to benefit 4-H Club members or the Champaign County Farm Bureau Foundation for future scholarships.
