FUNERAL RITES SET FOR CRASH VICTIM
Roy - Weber County - Funeral services for Arlin Ray Wiberg, 14, son of Reuben M. and Maurine Clark Wiberg of Roy, who was killed Saturday shortly before 9 p.m. near his home by a hit-run motorist, will be conducted Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the Riverdale LDS ward chapel by E. Gayle Sheffield, bishop.
The accident occurred a mile north of Death curve on Utah 38.
The boy's body was found by Capt. A. T. Wilson of the Utah army service forces depot soon after the accident occurred, reported Utah Highway Patrolmen Kimball Ward and Mason Hill, who investigated.
Patrolman Ward said that apparently the youth was riding his bicycle north on the east side of the highway and was about to turn east into a farm to deliver a paper when he was hit. The death car was also northbound since the victim's cap was found 76 feet north of the body, the officer reported.
Highway patrolmen, Ogden police and Weber county sheriffs are searching for the hit-run driver, and have several clues found at the scene of the accident.
Arlin Ray Wiberg was born Sept. 23, 1930, in Murray. The family had been members of the Riverton LDS ward, West Jordan stake, until moving recently to Roy. He was a Boy Scout and was at the time of his death president of the deacon's quorum of the Riverdale ward.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include the following brothers and sister: Ronald C., Marilyn and Vernon Demont Wiberg, Roy, and a grandfather, Edward B. Clark, Farmington.
Friends may call at the family residence on Utah highway 38 Tuesday evening and Wednesday until time of services. Burial in the Ogden city cemetery will be directed by Lindquist & Sons mortuary of Ogden.
