Emmett Olson
(July 19, 1916 - February 6, 2009)

EMMETT JOHN OLSON died February 6, 2009 at Medicalodge, Clay Center, KS at the age of 92. He was born on July 19, 1916 in Clay Center Kansas, the son of Emil Olson and Hedwig Carlson. He married Berndette Ahlquist on January 14, 1945, she preceded him in death in 2005. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was a farmer. Emmett worked as a maintenance engineer for the Clay County Hospital, Presbyterian Manor in Topeka, and the McPherson Hospital. He was a member of the Clay Center United Methodist Church, the Clay Center V.F.W. and the Clay Center American Legion.
Survivors include:

Daughter: Brenda and her husband, Tom Nelson, Clay Center, KS

Daughter: Collette Meyers, Flagstaff, AZ

Grandchildren: Seven Grandchildren and Two Great Grandchildren

Brother: Leon Olson, Clay Center, KS

Brother: Lloyd Olson, Clay Center, KS

Brother: Eugene Olson, Salina, KS

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at 10:30 AM at the Clay Center United Methodist Church in Clay Center, Kansas.

Officiating the service will be Pastor Larry Myers.

Burial will be at the Swedesberg First Lutheran Cemetery, Clay County, Kansas.

Visitation will be held on will be held from 3-8 PM Monday at the funeral home.

Memorials can be made to may be made to the Emmett Olson Memorial Fund or the Clay Center United Methodist Church in care of the funeral home.
