James A. Williams, 84, a resident of Henderson county for the greater part of his life, died at his home in Houston at 5:00 p.m. Friday and was buried at Walnut Creek at 2:00 o'clock Sunday.

Mr. Williams succumbed from a heart attack suffered only a few days ago.
The body arrived here Saturday night and was removed to the home of his daughter, Mrs. W.L. Brownlow, of Crescent heights.

Funeral was from the Crescent Heights church at 2:00 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Laney of Malakoff, assisted by Rev. Phil Trammell, Eustace Methodist pastor. Burial followed at Walnut Creek. Pallbearers were John Ballow, J.M. Peay, Frazier Holland, Bob Tanner, Charley Tanner and S.A. Carroll.

Mr. Williams had been living in Houston for several years. Prior to moving there he was engaged in the ginning business in this county.

He was born in Mississippi but came to Texas early in life. Deceased was twice married.

Surviving children by his first wife are Ollie Williams, McCamey; Leslie Williams, Silver City, New Mexico; Mrs. W.L. Brownlow, Crescent Heights; Mrs. Lillie Garrison, Clovis New Mexico and Mrs. C.A. Reynolds of Memphis, Texas. The latter was stricken suddenly ill Friday and was due to undergo an operation Saturday. His second wife and the following children also survive: Mrs. Ernest McGregor, Houston; Hubert Williams, Fort Worth and
Guy Williams of Houston. One sister, Mrs. John Christopher of Walnut Creek, also survives.

Mr. Williams had been a member of the Methodist church for many years.
