Carl William Reinhardt, 80, our father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2009. He was born Nov. 12, 1928, in Bloomfield, to August Frank Reinhardt and Eva Reid.

Carl met his eternal sweetheart, Della Kershaw, in Vallejo, Calif., at a church dance. They were married Aug. 12, 1950. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Carl was preceded in death by his wife, Della, who died May 25, 2008; by his parents; and brother, LaVerne Reinhardt.

He is survived by his two daughters, Katheryne Lairmore (Richard), of Casa Grande, Ariz., and Suzanne Howard (Robert), of Farmington; two sons, Carl Reinhardt Jr. (Elizabeth), of Jamestown, N.M., and Michael Reinhardt (Gaye), of Bloomfield; 16 grandchildren, including 11 Eagle Scouts, five military, three LDS missionaries, college graduates, athletes and students, Scott (Yvette), Greg (Jenifer), Mark (Amanda) and Terrance (Carolyn) Lairmore, Katheryne Kasper (Kelly), Brock, Broderick, Brandt (Jeannette) and Bracy Howard, Carl III, Daniel (Holly) Reinhardt and Lisa (Chris) Salinas, Michael Jr. (Terumi), Kenneth, Arminda and Joshua Reinhardt. He is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Louise Sellers, Eva Howeth, and Betty Wilkenson; two brothers, Gilbert and Paul Reinhardt; extended family and friends.

He loved family and trucks. He worked hard all his life in the trucking business. He lived his life humbly and helped us to better our lives.
Heartfelt thanks to the wonderful compassionate service received from family, friends, church members, nurses and doctors.

A celebration of Carl's life will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Chapel, 505 N. Oliver St. in Aztec. Bishop Jerry Spangler will conduct.

He will then be laid to rest at the East Hammond Cemetery.

Pallbearers are his sons, sons-in-law and grandsons.

Honorary pallbearers will be his daughters, daughters-in-law and granddaughters.
