Jerry Hooper, died of a heart attack at his home in the New Friendship[ community east of Henderson on Friday, Dec. 30.

Services were held at 1:30 Saturday afternoon at Piney Grove Baptist Church near Toone. Burial was in Piney Grove Cemetery under the direction of Morgan Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Cox officiating.

Mr. Hooper was 63. He was born in Hardeman County, Tennessee. He was a farmer at New Friendship and a member of the Baptist Church there.

Mr. Hooper was a loving husband and father. He was a friend to all who came in contact with him. His kindness, generosity and genial nature made him beloved by his neighbors and the people in his employ.

He leaves his wife, Mrs. Pearl Jordan Hooper; a son, Wayne Hooper; a daughter, Miss Evelyn Hooper and a grandson, Kenneth Wayne Hooper, all of Pinson, Tenn.; a step-mother, Mrs. W.T. Hooper of Memphis; six brothers, George Hooper, now in Texas, Aubrey Hooper of Toone, Vernon and Virgil Hooper of Memphis and Columbus and T.C. Hooper of Hornsby, Tenn.; and four sisters, Mrs Oma Howell of Bernie, Mo., Mrs. Florence Howell of Martin, Tenn., Mrs Ethel Jordan of Bethel Springs, and Mrs. Alberta Lee of Bono, Arkansas.

Pallbearers were Cleadus Mitchell, Murray Webb, Frank Latham, Cleo Sells, Willard Seaton, and Carmon Johnson.

Jerry married Lillie Pearl Deming in Hardeman County, Tenn. on Nov. 2, 1905. They were married by J.J. Siler, J.P.
