EDWARD AMOS SHINN

Edward Amos Shinn, son of Frank and Frances Shinn, was born September 9, 1884 and departed this life on April 10, 1958 at the Pawnee County Memorial Hospital at the age of 73 years, seven months and one day.

He was born on a farm north of DuBois and spent his entire life in this community.

On March 7, 1905 he was married to Anna Dvorak. They made their home one mile northwest of DuBois. To this union were born two children, Emil and Adella.

On August 4, 1924 his wife, Anna, passed away, and he later married Emma Dvorak on February 26, 1926. They continued to live on the farm until later years when they moved into DuBois.

He was a devoted father and husband and leaves in the hearts of his children many fond memories of a happy family life. He was a sincere and loyal friend to those who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Emma, his son, Emil, and daughter, Mrs. Neal Avery, all of DuBois; four grandchildren, Ernest and Alice Shinn of DuBois, Mildred Panec of Key West, Fla., and Steven Avery of DuBois; also three great grandchildren, besides many other relatives and friends. Three half-sisters and two half-brothers preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held at the E. U. B. Church in DuBois Sunday April 13 with Rev. Robert Holbrook officiating.

The pall bearers were Leo Haight, Max Church, Ivan Nemec, Lee Trecek, Emil Stepanek and Milton Jun.
