He was born April 13, 1943 in Rush County by the late William Loren & Irene (Tash) Carpenter. He was married to Edith Deiwert Carpenter for 30 years.
He is survived by his former wife Edith Carpenter; one son Scott (Karen) Carpenter; two daughters Karen Carpenter & Hampton Rodriguez and Christy Richardson; one sister Sandy & husband Alvin Bedel; Seven Grandchildren also survive.
Bill graduated from Rushville High School and received his BA in business from Indiana University. He farmed most of his life but also worked at Rushville National Bank, Joe Fordice Motors, Goodyear Tire and the American Legion. Bill was an E5 in the US Army during the Vietnam War.
Memberships include the American Legion Post #150 and Rushville Eagles Lodge. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
Funeral Services will be at Todd Funeral Home Tuesday, December 27, 2005 at 10 A.M. with Rev. Bill R. Worrell Officiating. Burial will follow at East Hill Cemetery with military rites. Visitation will be 4:00 to 8:00 PM December 26th at the funeral home.

It was hard not to know Bill growing up in Rushville working the many places that he did. I remember Bill very well to include the two years my brother and I owned our business in Rushville.
