KINGS MOUNTAIN - Mrs. Waynell Bingham Costner, 82, of 132 Tobe Bridge Road, died Wednesday, February 4, 2009, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center in Shelby.

Born October 11, 1926, in Gaston County, she was a daughter of the late Everette Bingham and Lula Eaker Bingham.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Guy Reid Costner; a sister, Annie Mae Bingham and a son-in-law, John Thomas Elliott.

She is survived by a son, Edwin Costner and wife, Grace, of Kings Mountain; two daughters, Janet Elliott and Vickie Rudasill and husband, John, all of Lawndale; a brother, E.A. Bingham Jr. and wife, Letha of Kings Mountain; two sisters, Mary Frances Bingham and Earleen Bingham Grayson and husband, Bill of Shelby; seven grandchildren, Kevin Elliott and his wife, Katherine, Dennis Elliott and his wife, Diana, Aimee Moore and her husband, Chris, Kristi Greene and her husband, Court, Billy Rudasill, Stacey and Clay Costner; and three great-grandchildren, Carter and Lillee' Moore and Reese Elliott.

Graduate of Waco High School. She retired from Howell Manufacturing Co. in Cherryville. She was a member of Mary's Grove United Methodist Church, Kings Mountain, where she was a choir member, church treasurer, and a member of the United Methodist's women. She and her husband were known for growing and selling much sought after produce.

Funeral Services will be Friday at 11 am at Mary's Grove United Methodist Church with the Dr. Greg Gordon and Rev. Renee Bingham officiating. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
