Born Oct. 8, 1920, she was the daughter of Willard and Carrie (Weir) Cox, both deceased. She married Charles T. Pike Nov. 17, 1940; he preceded her in death in 1972. She married Charles Pavey Sept. 3, 1991; he preceded her in death Oct. 24, 1991.
Mrs. Pavey lived in Rushville most of her life. She was a prior member of the Methodist Church of New Salem. She later joined St. Mary Catholic Church and was a member of the St. Mary's Over 50 Club, Women's Sodality, Rush County Senior Citizens, and O.E.S. No. 154 of Anderson. She worked in the office of Rush Memorial Hospital for 13 years after living in Anderson for 20 years.
She is survived by one son, Dean Pike of Muskegon, Mich.; one daughter, Sally Stevens of Troy, Mich.; six step sons Joe Pavey of Manilla, Larry Pavey, Stephen Pavey, John Pavey and Mike Pavey, all of Rushville, and Paul Pavey of St. Paul; five step daughters, Diana Voiles of Kokomo, Sue Ann Odum, Barbara Musgrave and Rita Kay Hilt of Rushville, and Mary Marlatt of Glenwood; three grandchildren; 42 step grandchildren; and eight step great-grandchildren.
Besides her husbands she was preceded in death by one son and one brother, Wayne Cox.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Monday at St. Mary Church in Rushville with Father William Turner presiding. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Todd Funeral Home in Rushville. In addition, a Rosary service will be held 7:30 p.m. Sunday night during visitation.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Decatur County Hospice.
