Born in Crenshaw, Pennsylvania, she was a daughter of James C. and Margaret (Quinlisk) Ackerd.
She was married to Joseph U Rowbottom on April 26, 1917.
A member of SSCD Roman Catholic Church, she was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Mrs. Rowbottom was a Gold Star Mother.
Surviving relatives include five daughters and three sons; Mrs. Henry L (E Bonita) Strayer of Ashtabula, Ohio; Mrs. Robert B (Catherine) Fleming of RD 1 Punxsutawney; Mrs. Clair L (Ann) Humm of Las Vegas, Nevada; Mrs. McVay (Theresa) Williams of Olive Branch, Mississippi; Mrs. James (Betty) Ake of Downers Grover, Illinois; John F Rowbottom of Cashiers, North Carolina; James L Rowbottom of North Olmstead, Ohio and William P Rowbottom of Punxsutawney.
She is also survived by 23 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of September 5th, 1959; one daughter, Sara Marie; and two sons John James and Joseph P, who was killed in World War II in the Battle of the Bulge.
She was the last of 11 children.
Friends will be received in the Deeley Funeral Home from 7 – 9 p.m. on Thursday. A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated in Saints Cosmas and Damian Roman Catholic Church on Friday at 10 a.m.
Internment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
