Don served with the Army Air Corps during World War II as an ambulance driver in both England and France. He moved to Bakersfield, in 1970 and was known as "The Watkins Man" for over 30 years in Oildale.
Nothing brought him more pleasure in life than to make others smile and laugh. His big smile and chuckling laugh will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
There will be a visitation at Mish Funeral Home (120 Minner Ave.) from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 5th, with graveside services at the Veteran's section of Union Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. Friday the 6th of February.
