INWOOD, Iowa -- Corrinne "Jane" Jeannette Stephens, 102, died Tuesday, Feb. 24,1998, at Fellowship Village in Inwood. Corrinne Jeannette Oliver was born July 9, 1895, in Louisville, Ky. She moved to Inwood, Iowa, in 1904 to live with her grandparents after her mother died. She attended Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, and then taught English in Rock Valley, Iowa. She married Carl J. Stephens on Dec. 1, 1923. They lived in Des Moines, Iowa, until 1959 when they retired and moved to Inwood. Her husband died Feb. 25, 1965. She moved to Fellowship Village on Aug. 4, 1989. She was a member of Bethyl United Methodist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. E.M. (Susan) Messenger of Indianapolis, Ind.; five grandchil¬dren; and six great-grandchildren. A memorial service and interment of the cremains will be held at a later date. Porter Funeral Home in Inwood is handling the arrangements.
