PARALYSIS FATAL TO AGED RESIDENT
August Ratcliff Dies After Long Illness
Augustus Ratcliff, 70, died at 1:15 pm yesterday at his home in South Ashland. He has been ill for seven years and has suffered three strokes of paralysis in recent years. The funeral will be held from the home at 10 a.m. Monday. Burial to be made in the Ratcliff cemetery near Summitt.
Mr. Ratlcliff is survived by his widow, Sarah Ratcliff, by four daughters, Mrs. S. G. Adkins and Mrs. J.B. Goodman of Ashland, Mrs. Nelson Whitt of Hitchens and Mrs. A. J. Lewis of South Portsmouth and by three sons, John and Ritchie of Ashland and Oscar of Hanging Rock, O.
Mr. Ratcliff has been well known in Ashland for years and prior to his illness was actively engaged in business here. A large number of friends are extending their sympathy to the bereaved family.
