Mrs. David Dendy, Woodland, Dies
Mrs. David Dendy, 41, teacher at Woodland, died at the Northeast Mississippi Medical Center, Tupelo, at 9:40 am, Friday, Oct. 9. She has been ill for six months.
Funeral services were conducted from the Woodland Baptist Church at 10 am, Saturday, Oct. 10, with the Rev. Willie Ward officiating. Interment was in the Woodland Cemetery with Houston Funeral Home in charge.
Pallbearers were deacons of the Woodland Baptist Church, where she was an active member.
Mrs. Dendy, the former Miss Welcome Cowart, was born Feb. 28, 1929, the daughter of Cirgle E and May Pearce Cowart. A native of Monroe county, she had resided at Woodland for 12 years.
She is survived by her husband, David Dendy of Woodland; three sons, Barry, Keith and John Edgar Dendy; a daughter, Teresa Lynn Dendy, all of the home; and a brother, Allen Cowart of Amory.
