Elmer I. Bair, struck by a bolt of lightning while operating a tractor on the farm of his father-in-law, George W. Basehoar, of Littlestown. Elmer I. Bair, 36, president of the Union township school board, and prominent young farmer, was instantly killed at 2:30 o'clock, Friday afternoon.
Mr. Bair was aged 36 years, three months and four days. Those who survive him are: His wife, Mrs. Barbara Louise (Basehoar) Bair, and their daughter, Anna Louise Bair, aged 8 years; the father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Albert J. Bair, retired farmers, living near Christ Reformed church, Littlestown-Hsnover Road; and four brothers, Samuel R. Bair, a clerk in the postoffice at Hanover; Hollin Bair, a farmer, near Littlestown; Arthur Bair, cashier of the National Bank, Littlestown, and John Bair, a farmer near Littlestown, and two sisters, Mrs. Velvet Wintrode, Hanover, and Mrs. John Wildasin, Blooming Glen, near Philadelphia.
