Mrs. Evelyn S. Taylor, 88, died Monday afternoon (October 19, 2020) at Tatnall Healthcare Center in Reidsville, GA after an extended illness.

She was born in Brantley County, but she was raised in Patterson, GA where she attended Pierce County Schools. Mrs. Taylor resided in Reidsville over 30 years, and she was formerly employed as a dietician at Reidsville High School.

Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by her parents, Amos Sloan and Avie Gunter Sloan; her husband, Dolan L. Taylor; daughter, Doris “Dinky” Thrift; and two sisters, Ela Mae Aspinwall and Ealon Daniels.

Survivors include three daughters, Linda Rollins (Bobby) of Waycross, Debbie Thompson of Reidsville, and Pam Strader of Lyons; one son, Robbie Aldridge (Marilyn) of Greensboro, NC; two step-daughters, Linda Taylor Bennett and Kathy Lynn (Randy) both of Waycross; one step-son, Rick Taylor (Pam) of Waycross; 10 grandchildren, Brenda Norman (Robby), Jody Rollins, David Harrington, James Beverly (Kim), Stacy Thrift, Michael Taylor (Shannon), Whitney Osborne (Cory), Bryce Thompson, Amanda Stanford (Pete) and Jason Strader; five step-grandchildren, Rebecca Johnson (Sam), David Lynn, Kevin Lynn, Paige Taylor and Zack Taylor; 15 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild; and several nieces, and great nieces and nephews.

A graveside service for family and close friends will be held 11 a.m. Thursday (October 22, 2020) at Mars Hill Cemetery in Hoboken.
