Batey, Johnny Raymond Belleville, MI Johnny Raymond Batey, age 63, died suddenly Tuesday, May 1, 2007, at his residence. He was born March 3, 1944, in Cumburlin Furnace, Tennessee, the son of Raymond Johnny and Mary Elizabeth (Simpkins) Batey. Johnny was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army where he served during the VietNam War. He retired from the Ypsilanti Ford Plant after many years of employment He was also a member of the Ridge Rd. Church of Christ. Survivors include his parents, three brothers, Douglas Neel (Deborah), Jerry Darryl (Karen) and Charles Ronald (Corine) and beloved sister, Janet Kay (Daniel) Parris; one brother-in-law, Robert Wallace; nieces, Kimberely, Sandra, Sommer and Elizabeth Ann; nephews, Timothy, Christopher, Jason, Michael Boatwright, Douglas II and Kyle; several great nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and many, many friends. Funeral service will be held Saturday, May 5, 2007 at 10 a.m. at the Janowiak Funeral Home, Geer-Logan Chapel with Rev. Don Confer officiating. The burial will follow in the Washtenong Memorial Park, Ann Arbor. The family will receive friends Friday at the funeral home 1-3 and 6-8 p.m.
