The Lincoln Evening Journal Newspaper, Lincoln, NE, April 16, 1961- "Swanson, Omaha Leader, Dies - Palm Springs, Calif. (AP) - W. Clarke Swanson, 53, prominent Omaha businessman died Saturday afternoon following a heart attack on a golf course at Palm Springs. Swanson was president of the Butternut Coffee Col, and a director of the Campbell Soup Co. Survivors include his widow, a daughter and two sons. Arrangements were being made to return the body from California to Omaha today."

Obituary - "Clarke Swanson Dies; Final Rites Tomorrow - Clarke Swanson, 53, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Swanson of Omaha, Neb., died of a heart attack Saturday at Palm Springs, Calif. A brother of Gilbert Swanson, formerly of Fayetteville, he was a director of the Campbell Soup Company and active in the Swanson Enterprises. Survivors are his wife and three children, his brother and a sister, Mrs. Gretchen Bucholz, all of Omaha, where funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. tomorrow. Among those from his section who will attend services will be Henry Shreve of Fayetteville and George Melbourne of Rogers."
