Rites to be Tuesday for J. F. Andre
James Franklin Andre, 69, long-time resident of the Estherville area died yesterday at 7:05 a.m. at Holy Family Hospital in Estherville. He had been ill for the past 10 days.
James was born July 19, 1890 at Manilla, in Crawford County. His parents were Mr. and Mrs. Henry (Harvey) Andre. He was united in marriage to Alta Mae Ramsey April 14, 1915 at Manning.
The Andres moved to this county in the fall of 1918 and farmed until the spring of 1937. Since then he had been working as a carpenter.
He was a member of the Christian Church and the Knights of Pythias.
Survivors include his widow; three sons, Richard of Sioux City, Wayne and Merle of Estherville; a sister, Jennie Aikman of Audubon. He is also survived by four granddaughters and two grandsons. He was preceded in death by a son, Delbert, who died Oct. 3, 1930.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Christian Church with the Rev. Lester Strubhar officiating. Burial will be in Superior Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from this afternoon until 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at which time the body will be taken to the church. Friends may call there until time of services.
