Raymer W. Whitney, aged 74, of Glenwood, died Sunday, May 5, at the Twin Rivers Medical Center.
He was born on October 17, 1909, in Lawrence, Kansas, to William Whitney and Kate Seetin Whitney.
He was a retired mechanic and a former resident of Arizona. He had resided in Glenwood the past 9 years and was a member of the First baptist Church in Glenwood.
Survivors include his wife, Nola Mae Whitney, of Glenwood; two sons, Donald Ray Whitney of Cincinnati, Ohio, and William David Whitney of Leeton, Missouri; one daughter, Lorena Katherine Hensley of Chandler, Arizona; one step-son, Gerald Lee Moran of Las Vegas, Nevada; 13 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, in the Glenwood First Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Freeman officiating. Pallbearers were George Strickland, Aubrey Cook, Earl Stroope, Lindsey Campbell, Oscar Tabor and James Dwinell. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Glad Hands Sunday School class at First Baptist Church.
Burial was in the Salem Cemetery by Davis Funeral Home.
