James E. Ross, 63, of Matthews, died at 1:30 a.m. Dec. 17, 2003, at his home.
Born Oct. 19, 1940, in Dardanelle, AR, son of the late Frank and Margaret Howard Ross, he had worked for National Lock in Sikeston for 20 years and was a member of the Matthews Church of the Nazarene.
On Oct. 20, 1961, in Canalou, he married Alice Faye Fowler who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one son, James F. Ross; two daughters, Kimberly Watson and Mary J. Makin; one brother, Robert Ross; six sisters, Betty Kerley, Margaret Jenkins, Linda McClain, Caroline Hollifield, Ruby Taylor and Jewel Tankersley; and five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, two sisters and one son-in-law.
Visitation was at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel, where services were scheduled. The Rev. Don Heitman, pastor of Matthews Church of the Nazarene, officiated.
Burial followed in the Matthews Cemetery.
Pallbearers were: Steve Brewer, Eddie Kerley, Roger Miller, Danny Tankersley, Billy McGehee and Michael McClain.
Honorary pallbearers were: Billy Watson and Gene Watson.
