Annie Christian Funeral Services Held December 27, 1956
Funeral services for Miss Annie L. Christian were conducted on Saturday, December 22, from Phillips and Luckey chapel with the Rev. Carter Boren of First Christian church officiating. Burial followed in the family burial plot at Murray cemetery near Rockdale.
Annie Lee Christian was the daughter of Charles S. and Anne Christian who were early day residents of this community. She was born on Jan. 31, 1877, and was one of the nine children in the family.
Miss Christian had lived in and near Rockdale all of her life, and had been since early life a member of the Christian church. She had been a regular attendant of the First Chistian church here for some twenty years, but after becoming a semi-invalid in recent years she was unable to do active work.
Her survivors are two sisters and two brothers as follows: Elwood Christian and Mrs. Ivy Tidwell of Houston, Mrs. H. M. Roark and Silas C. Christian of Rockdale.
