I don't remember how old I was at the time but one day my father asked me if I wanted to take a walk with him. Where we went was very familiar to me because this was where our town's playground was. We did not go to the playground. We crossed the street and went up these steps to one of the houses which overlooked the playground, After we were invited into the house my father introduced me as Bob, his youngest. We stayed probably fifteen or twenty minutes then left and walked back home. When I was nine years old my father's mother passed away, and when I saw her at funeral home I then knew that that lady I met with my Dad that day was my Grandmother, and that every day that I was at that playground I could have gone up to her house and got to know her.
If only I could do some things over again I would have gotten to know my Grandmother Esther.

Dear Grandmother why don't you want to be found. Judy and I walked that whole cemetery looking for you and you were hiding. I know the records have you in section C-237 where your son Charles is but you were no where to be found. I kept talking to you but again you would not answer me. I wanted to take a picture of your marker as I did for Charles and Murry. I have convinced myself that you shall always remain a mystery to me.
Your loving Grandson
