Death came as a blessing to Thomas H. Wheeler, who passed away at the Preston Hospital Easter Sunday April 13, 1952 after a month of suffering.
He was born in North Ogden, Utah, Dec 10, 1876, the 2nd in a family of 12. He spent his early life on a farm in Cache Valley where he later met and married Bertha Amelia Eskelson, on November 15, 1899 in the Logan Temple. To this union were born 14 children. The first nine were born in Cache Valley where five died in infancy.
They came from Cache Valley and took up a homestead in Smoot, Wyoming, about 1913 were three children were born. They later moved to Bedford where the last two children were born. They moved to Afton in 1932 where they lived until the death of his wife in 1945. In 1946 he married Phebe Robinson and made his home in Preston, Idaho where he lived until his death. He was a devoted father and husband. This is shown during the last five year his wife was alive, as he was constantly at her side.
