Mr. Milton Leroy Burns, age 70, a resident of Caldwell Drive in Columbia, passed away on Tuesday, February 12, [2008,] at Maury Regional Hospital...

The Maury County native was the son of the late Burton and Rosa Shepherd Burns and husband of Gloria Quirk Burns, whom he was married to for 49 years. He was retired from the Maintenance Dept. Flat Fold Dept. at CPS and had worked for Monsanto, Columbia Mill & Elevator and Columbia Express. He was an Assistant Boy Scout Master for the Troop at Riverside United Methodist, boy's baseball coach, a Columbia Central High School Band Booster parent, avid gardener and a caretaker to many. He was a member of the Neapolis United Methodist Church and veteran of the US Army.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include:...sisters, Doris Malugin of Columbia and Hazel Long of Nashville; brother, Donnie (Wanda) Burns of Theta; several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Roburda Harbison and Mary Jean Mullins; brother, Gerald "Jerry" David Burns; brother-in-law, Thomas Malugin....
