Our loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather returned to his dear companion, Sidney, on July 4, 1993.

Born December 21, 1903, in Vernal, Utah to Pontha Calder and Rosella W. Soffe. Married Sidney Goodrich May 1, 1931, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

Prominent leader in business, civic activities, auto dealer, land developer, cattle ranching, Lions Club, and American Legion. Active High Priest in the LDS Church.

Survived by: Four sons, Robert Mac (Sandie) Calder, So. Weber; Lynn Rodger (Connie) Calder, Bountiful; John Richard (Dixie) Calder, Bountiful; William Harold (Kathy) Calder, Vernal; one daughter, Rosemary Calder (Chase) Rogers, Boston, Mass.; 23 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one brother, Clive Calder (Leah), Bountiful; Donna Abegglen, Vernal; preceded in death by wife, Sidney.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Friday, July 9, 1993, at Bountiful 28th Ward, 2185 South 200 West. Friends may call Thursday, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Deseret Mortuary, 36 East 700 South and one hour prior to services at the church. Interment, Bountiful City Cemetery.

FORMER VERNAL CAR DEALER IS NSNR CAPTAIN

BOUNTIFUL -- Captain Edwin Harold Calder U S N R of Bountiful who was promoted to his present rank a few months ago, has just been advanced within his rank to air combat intelligence office attached to the allied high command in the far east. Mrs. Calder, his wife reported Weednesday of last week.

A cablegram received on their wedding anniversary Sunday May 2 stated that he had arrived at his destination. Captain Calder has the honor of being the only American Naval officer attached to this command, Mrs. Calder said.

Captain Calder, son of Pontha Calder, is a graduate of the University of Utah where he is a member of the R O T C unit. He is a former of Salt Lake and Bountiful automobile company executive and is owner of the Maple Springs Riding Academy of Bountiful.
