Elizabeth K. Zarilla, 85, of Edison Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, formerly of North Mercer Street, died the afternoon of Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2009, in Jameson Memorial Hospital. She was born June 10, 1923, in Chicago, a daughter of the late Rudolph and Carlotta Regna Elari.

She was married to James V. Zarilla Sr. He died March 19, 2008.

She was a homemaker, and a member of numerous clubs and organizations in New Castle. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family.

Survivors include a daughter, Carla Hackett of Wampum; a son, Michael Zarilla of Beaver Falls; two sisters, Clara Zona of New Castle and Stephanie Ross of Boca Raton, Fl.; and four grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, James Zarilla Jr.; and her brother, Rudolph Elari.

Visitation is 10 a.m. to noon tomorrow at the William F. and Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Ave.A blessing service will be conducted at noon tomorrow at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel of the funeral home. The Rev. Philip Farrell of St. Camillus Church will officiate.Burial will be in St. Vitus Cemetery.
